holistic eco-design for sustainability

Holistic, ecological and very practical, azjure spa studios feature leading edge sustainable design in both the retreat and the spa studios, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.  Indeed, azjure is proof that luxury, style and relaxation are compatible with caring for the environment...

azjure features:

> Drought tolerant landscaping to minimise water needs
> Collection of all rainwater
> Advanced secondary treatment of all waste water, which is then recycled for use on the landscaping
> Over 30 acres of protected original native eucalyptus forest
> Another 30 acres of previously cleared land is being regenerated into eucalyptus forest to act as a carbon sink and offset emissions
> 10 acres of land out in front of the studios is set aside as a safe grazing sanctuary for kangaroos

Each spa studio features:

> Queensland's most striking example of cool-climate passive solar design.  North facing glazing combined with internal thermal mass combine to maximise comfort and minimise energy use all year round
> Energy and water efficient appliances and fittings installed throughout
> Low embodied energy materials used in construction
> Special low-e glass retains maximum heat in winter and excludes excess heat in summer
> Reverse pitch verandah and clerestory windows capture the glorious winter sun and maximise the effectiveness of the passive solar design
