relaxation and romance
As the day begins, gaze out over kangaroos and deer grazing in front of your spa studio. Wrap yourself in azjure’s complimentary bathrobe, lounge around on your patio, bask in the morning sun while sipping a superb espresso or cappucino made with freshly ground beans and take in the glorious 180 degree panoramic views of the verdant Ballandean valley and natural bushland.
As the day passes gently by, browse through the complimentary magazines, read a book, enjoy the calming sounds of a relaxation CD from azjure's library, or just be...

Then, as the sun sinks below the horizon, a new pleasure awaits, with spectacular sunsets followed by an incredible night sky free from city lights. Fill your crystal wine glasses with a superb wine grown and made by a neighbouring winery and relax in the luxurious reclining spa for two, filled with the sweet scent of aromatherapy oils, enticingly illuminated by the soft glow of candlelight and the flickering warmth of a country log fire. Select a complimentary DVD from azjure's extensive library and lie back to enjoy the movie on the widescreen High Definition LCD TV...
Finally, doze off to sleep in the king-size pillow-top bed before waking up next morning to do it all again. Surely this is the essence of relaxation.
wine
If your perfect break includes experiencing Granite Belt Wine Country, Queensland's premier wine region, there's no better base than azjure. Your spa studio looks out across the Ballandean valley to Sirromet's St Jude vineyard as well as Cody's and Smith's vineyards. And right by the studios is azjure's own piece of Queensland wine history, the oldest Pinot Noir vineyard in the state.
azjure is simply surrounded by top wineries - just take an easy walk or drive down Sundown Rd. There are four wineries within 1.5km on Sundown Rd including Golden Grove Estate, Tobin Fine Wines and the iconic Ballandean Estate, where the modern Queensland wine industry started. And many more fine wineries are just 5-10 minutes away, including the fabulous Symphony Hill.
If you prefer, take a half day or full day wine tour with Filippos Tours. All tours include lunch, and Filippos will pick you up from your studio and drop you back there following the tour.
For something new, check out the great new Strange Bird wine trail, which showcases the alternative varieties being grown on the Granite Belt.
food
Wine and food go perfectly together, so it's fitting that the Granite Belt is also one of Queensland's premier food regions. And at azjure you are perfectly placed to experience the best the region has to offer.
For fine dining, the Granite Belt's top two restaurants, Vineyard Cafe and Shiraz, are both in Ballandean close to azjure. Also in Ballandean, the Ballandean Tavern is open every day for lunch and dinner. Fifteen minutes away in Stanthorpe, Annas is famous for its traditional Italian food and Patty's on McGregor is known for its friendly ambience and casual dining.
For lunch, Ballandean Estate and the Cafe at Mason Wines are close by in Ballandean, while a little further afield Whiskey Gully, Robert Channon Wines, Jester Hill Wines, the Queensland College of Wine Tourism and Lucas Estate are all popular choices.
If you prefer to dine in your studio one night, select meals from the range of pre-prepared meals created especially for azjure by a fine local restaurant, create your own meal in the fully equipped kitchen, or cook under the stars on the outdoor BBQ.
nature
azjure is a haven for wildlife, with kangaroos often grazing close to the studios, herds of wild deer frequent visitors, and plenty of birdlife.
It's also a great base for walks around the Ballandean area, with easy gradients and beautiful views everywhere.
azjure is close to three of the most incredible National Parks in Australia. The views and rock formations have to be seen to be believed!

Girraween National Park is only 10 minutes drive from azjure down the main highway. Girraween features the amazing Pyramids and many walking tracks, ranging from easy to more difficult. There are great views from the top of the nearest Pyramid. |

Sundown National Park is just 3km away at the end of Sundown Rd, the same road as azjure. Sundown features spectacular gorges and rugged rock formations. Accessible to high clearance 4WD vehicles only. |

Bald Rock National Park is about 30 minutes away over the NSW border. Bald Rock is the second largest monolith in Australia after Uluru, and is just huge! There is a moderately easy way up and a steeper way up, both of which are worth trying. The views from the top are panoramic and spectacular! |
